If you have ever felt anxiety when thinking about your next dental visit, you are in good company. Dental anxiety is quite common among people, whether it is for something simple like a dental cleaning, or something more involved like a root canal. At Smiley Dental Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas, we understand that there are times that our patients need help feeling relaxed and calm during their treatment. Anxiety is only one reason to use sedation dentistry. Other reasons might include the following:
–A low tolerance to pain
–Cannot sit still while in the chair
–A gag reflex difficult to control
–Extensive dental work done at one sitting
Dr. Lynh Pham & Associates are pleased to offer our patients sedation dentistry to help ease their tension regarding an upcoming procedure. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation and IV sedation. Nitrous oxide (or laughing gas) is breathed in through a mask and leaves you awake and feeling good. With oral sedation, you take a pill before your appointment to help you relax and calm your nerves, and this will likely require someone to accompany you to your appointment to drive you there and back. IV sedation is administered intravenously through the veins, allowing you to feel calm quickly, while the dosage is adjusted during the treatment. You will also need someone to drive you home afterwards.
Please ask about our sedation options if you are experiencing anxiety about your next visit with our team. We want to help you restore your smile with confidence. If you are ready to schedule your next appointment with Dr. Lynh Pham & Associates, please call our Smiley Dental Fort Worth team in Ft. Worth, Texas at 817.927.1877 today!
