If you have missing teeth in your smile, our dentures are custom-made oral appliances created to replace missing teeth, and like your natural teeth, they require proper care and maintenance to keep them looking and feeling their best. Our dentist, Dr. Lynh Pham recommends the following tips when caring for your dentures:

Step 1 Moist

The first thing you want to remember is that your dentures are delicate and if you accidentally drop them, they may break. You also don’t want them to dry out, as this can cause them to warp, so when you aren’t wearing them, keep them in warm or cold water (never hot) or a cleansing solution for dentures.

Step 2 Brush

You will want to brush your dentures so that they don’t become stained, and to keep them clear from plaque and food debris. Before your put your dentures in for the day, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to brush your gums, tongue, cheeks and roof of your mouth. This will remove dental plaque and help prevent bad breath.

Step 3 Adhesive

If you use adhesives with your dentures, be sure to follow the directions for their use exactly. Our dentist can recommend the best cleaners and adhesives to use, and of course, always use a product that carries the ADA Seal of Acceptance to ensure that they are both safe and effective.
